About JTT

USTA Junior Team Tennis (JTT) unites boys and girls ages 5 to 18 for an exciting mix of singles, doubles, and mixed doubles matches against other coed teams. It's more than just fun and exercise—JTT provides a competitive, level-based environment where kids can grow individually, build social connections, and develop life skills.

Often compared to Little League Baseball, JTT offers young players the chance to sharpen their individual and team skills in a lively, competitive setting. Winning teams can advance from Local to District to Section Championships.

Middle School League

The USTA Northern New Mexico Fall Mid-School Tennis League started in 1996 by direction of the NNMTA and through the vision and guidance of Sue Jollensten. The league is designed for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.  This league takes place from September and October.  Middle school players play for their schools in a six-week season that culminates in a year-end tournament open to middle school teams from across the state.

The league is an after school tennis program that provides every middle school player that tries out a chance to engage in a healthy activity, learn the sport for a lifetime, and an opportunity to represent/identify with their schools. The City of Albuquerque is co-sponsor to the event each year, donating over 20 public court facilities to the program.

Public and private middle schools are organized into a six-week league season culminating in an End-of-Season Tournament in which all players are invited to participate. The league has over 500 students playing on nearly 35 teams each year. Teams range in size from 6 to 60 students - many of whom would normally not have the chance to learn and play tennis.

High School JV League

In partnership with the City of Albuquerque, the High School Spring JV League is a no-cut program conducted by USTA NNM for non-varsity players eligible to play.

8th graders are allowed to play in the JV League. High school JV players play for their schools in a six-week season in March and April that culminates in a year-end tournament
